Switching to VariPlay on an On-Air DVW VTR.
When a DVW machine has audio hits causing audible noises or video hits and the machine is On Air, you can switch to VariPlay thus enabling a clean play out.

Procedure:
With the machine in play, press and hold the play button

Rotate the search dial until the Character Display reads +15. This should occur at the first notch when rotating the search dial.

With the play button still pressed, press the Var button, just above the search dial, then release both.

The Character Display will now read +1 and the VTR will be in VariPlay mode.


Try this first with a machine that is not On Air.
