DVW Adjustments

DVW Adjustments:
After Head replacement
In order to perform a full adjustment it is recommended that you have the Service Manual available.
Also Tape Path and RF adjustments MUST be completed and correct.

CTL Head Height

Alignment Tape - ZR2-1
Test Point - TP800 (SS-52 Board) CTL Signal
TP819 (SS-52 Board) TRIG
Adjustment - Adjust level until the highest point


CTL Position Adjustment

Alignment Tape - ZR2-1
Test Point - TP2801 (SS-52 Board) SAT ENV Signal
TP819 (SS-52 Board) TRIG
TP101 (EQ-45 Board)
Adjustment - Adjust so that marker on TP2801 signal is aligned on the lower section of the TP101 waveform and the upper section of the TP819 waveform.


Audio/TC Height Adjustment

Alignment Tape - ZR2-1 (TC 00:00:00 to 15:00:00)
Test Point - CUE output. Scope either the + or -.
Adjustment - Adjust level until the highest point.


Audio/TC Azimuth Adjustment

Alignment Tape - ZR2-1 (TC 15:00:00 to 25:00:00)
Test Point - CUE output. Scope either the + or -.
Adjustment - Adjust level until the highest point.


Audio/TC Head Position Adjustment

Alignment Tape - ZR2-1 (TC 00:00:00 to 15:00:00)
Test Point - TP815 (SS-52 Board) CTL Pulse Signal
TP2800 (SS-52 Board) PB LTC signal TRIG
Adjustment - Adjust so that the rising portion of the two waveforms are in line.


Audio Level Adjustment in REW Mode.
Alignment Tape - ZR2-1 (TC 00:00:00 to 15:00:00)
Test Point - CUE output. Scope either the + or -.
Adjustment - Put unit into REW X1 Mode. Check audio level
-Put machine in Play mode. Check audio level
Audio levels should be the same.
If not the same there is a tape path problem.
Re-do tape path.
